Lunedi’ 29 giugno 2020, dopo avere attentamente studiato le previsioni atmosferiche, decidiamo di partire per la cima del Chersogno. Avendo pernottato nello splendido agriturismo “Al Chersogno”, di S. Michele di Prazzo, proseguiamo fino alla borgata De Costanzi, dove lasciamo le Auto.
Ci incamminiamo lungo la carrabile sterrata e dopo quasi un’ora raggiungiamo la borgata Chiotti, dove termina la strada ed iniziamo il facile sentiero che ci porta al colle del Chiosso che raggiungiamo dopo poco meno di un’ora. L’aria e’ fresca ed il sole fa capolino solo ogni tanto tra le nuvole che si fanno sempre piu’ fitte. Dal colle imbocchiamo il sentiero a sinistra e saliamo ancora di qualche metro fino al verde e bellissimo anfiteatro pianeggiante da dove si possono ammirare le cime della Rocca la Marchisa, del Pelvo d’Elva e la maestosa sagoma del Chersogno. Decidiamo per una meritata pausa caffe’ che ci permette di ammirare appieno lo stupendo paesaggio
Riprendiamo il cammino che comincia da subito a farsi piu’ impegnativo tra residui di neve, fortunatamente non dura, e sfasciumi sul canalone che porta al passo del Chersogno S.E.
Sul colle un forte vento gelido ci obbliga ad indossare tutto cio’ che avevamo nello zaino.
Con un ultimo sforzo, risaliamo la cresta e finalmete raggiungiamo la meta dopo 4 ore dalla partenza. Le nuvole che ci hanno accompagnato e riparato dal sole per tutto il percorso sembra di poterle toccare con un dito.
Fortunatamente troviamo un posticino un poco riparato dove poter mangiare. Il panorama che si ammira dalla cima e’ tra i piu’ appaganti. Lo sguardo spazia verso sud fino all’Argentera e, a nord, fino al Monviso e oltre. l’immagine che piu’ ci colpisce, pero’, e’ il verde intenso della valle Maira con tutte le cime e i valloni laterali.
A malincuore, dopo esserci riempiti gli occhi e la mente di bellezza , iniziamo la discesa che si preannuncia impegnativa, specialmente nel canalone che ci ha portati sul colle.
Ci fermiamo ancora sul verde pianoro , da dove si scorgono il lago Camosciere ed il bivacco Barenghi. Il vento e le nuvole ci hanno lasciati ed ora il cielo e’ limpido e azzurro. Senza piu’ fermarci raggiungiamo la borgata Chiotti e poi fino alla partenza alla borgata De Costanzi.
